PRESQUE ISLE, Maine—Wintergreen Arts Center recently received a $15,000 grant from the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust for operating support to provide quality, affordable arts programming in Aroostook County.
“We are thrilled to receive this important gift from the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust,” said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director. “Their support allows us to help local youth, adults, and families to connect and express themselves through the arts and creative process.”
In 2023, Wintergreen served over 3,775 family members through its creative preschool, after school and summer arts programs, signature holiday events, and a wide variety of workshops. Wintergreen supports local artists through monthly gallery exhibitions and the Aroostook Creative Network, a unique partnership with the Maine Arts Commission.
Operating support funding from the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust allows Wintergreen to meet its goal of intentionally serving economically challenged families through a scholarship program for its after school and summer arts programs.
Established in 1988, the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust connects people and place through the arts, culture, and the natural environment. The Trust supports conservation, preservation, culture, and education throughout Maine. To learn more, visit www.morton-kelly.org.
