PRESQUE ISLE, Maine—Online registration for Wintergreen’s Summer Arts Camps opens on May 1, 2025, at www.wintergreenarts.org (click Summer Arts Camps).

Weekly camps begin on June 30, through August 7, 2025. Thirteen camps are offered at three locations: Presque Isle Rec’s Mantle Lake Park, Presque Isle Housing Authority’s Community Center, and the Wintergreen Arts Center located at the Aroostook Centre Mall.

Teachers include Shaye McHatten, Claire Mautz, Gretchen Violette, Lisa Brewer, Katie Greenlaw, and McKenzie Cooper.

Wintergreen welcomes Summer Arts Teacher Shaye McHatten back for her ninth summer. With new camp themes like Adopt-a-Dino, Animals-Around-the-World, Wearable Art, and Superhero, sprinkled with fan favorites, STEAM Camp and Spa Camp, Shaye’s goal is to offer themes to stimulate the creativity and curiosity of a wide variety of summer campers.

Shaye will also be teaching ART with HeART, her signature summer arts program in partnership with the Presque Isle Housing Authority (PIHA). ART with HEART is offered afternoons throughout the month of July at the PIHA Community Center located at 37 Birch Street, Presque Isle. This unique relationship-building program is FREE for all local children.

In July, Video Production Camp with Claire Mautz and Theater-in-the-Park Camp with Gretchen Violette will be offered in partnership with the Presque Isle Parks and Recreation Department. Both camps are designed for two age groups, Kindergarten-Grade 3 and Grades 4-8, and will highlight local businesses and Presque Isle’s beautiful parks and trails.

In August, there is finally a camp for our youngest friends, Preschool Camp with Lisa Brewer and Katie Greenlaw. This camp is designed for little campers ages 3-5. During the school year, Lisa and Katie co-teach Wintergreen’s popular Under the Willow Tree Creative Preschool.

A full listing and descriptions of Wintergreen’s Summer Arts Camps can be found at www.wintergreenarts.org. Camps are $50 per week. Art with HeART is FREE for all local children. Online registration opens May 1, 2025.
