PRESQUE ISLE, Maine—Wintergreen Arts Center and Katahdin Trust Company announce THE WINTERGREEN EXPRESS holiday event dates for this year. Families may choose from the following evenings to take a ride on the magic trolley: Friday, December 13, Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Tickets go on sale Monday, November 18, at 12:00 NOON. Tickets are available online at www.wintergreenarts.org, click on WINTERGREEN EXPRESS TICKETS, www.wintergreenarts.org/wordpress/wintergreen-express-tickets/. Tickets are also available over the phone at (207) 762-3576, or at Wintergreen’s 149 State Street location in Presque Isle.
With the purchase of a $10 roundtrip golden ticket, each passenger climbs aboard Presque Isle Historical Society’s Molly the Trolley who magically transforms herself into THE WINTERGREEN EXPRESS. As the conductor punches tickets, riders enjoy a special holiday trip to the North Pole (Wintergreen) where Santa’s Elves serve hot cocoa and sing songs. Everyone gets to decorate sugar cookies, visit with Santa, and take home a jingle bell souvenir.
“This is our seventh annual WINTERGREEN EXPRESS,” said Kim Guerrette Michaud, Wintergreen’s Board Chair. “Together, Wintergreen and Katahdin Trust, thank the University of Maine at Presque Isle for providing our Magic Trolley Station, Graves’ Shop ‘n Save for sponsoring Santa’s Cookies, and our many, many volunteers who truly make this a magical experience for the young and young-at-heart.”

Rides are intended for children ages 10 and under. All children must be accompanied by at least one ticketed adult. Time of departure is to be selected when purchasing tickets. Trolleys depart every 20 minutes from Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) from 5:00 PM to 8:40 PM on Friday; 4:00 PM to 8:40 PM on Saturday; and, 4:00 PM to 7:40 PM on Sunday. All tickets are roundtrip from UMPI to Wintergreen and back to UMPI.
