Micro-grant funding up to $500 available for County artists

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine—Aroostook Creative Network is pleased to announce the third round of micro-grants for individual artists who live and work in Aroostook County, Maine. Artists may apply for micro-grants up to $500 maximum. Applications open March 20, 2025, online at wintergreenarts.org (click Aroostook Creative Network).

Artists may request micro-grant funding to help create new or existing work, enhance their artistic skills or abilities, participate in opportunities that will benefit their career, and improve their ability to share their art with the public.

“It has been exciting to witness Aroostook County artists of all disciplines come together as a result of this micro-grant program,” said Sheila Jans of Madawaska, regional development director for the Maine Arts Commission. “Now in its third year offering micro-grant opportunities, the Aroostook Creative Network is such a success in engaging and supporting Aroostook County artists.”

In 2023, the Maine Arts Commission and Wintergreen Arts Center partnered to launch the Aroostook Creative Network Micro-Grant Program. Fifty-five Aroostook County artists received funding during the first two grant cycles. Applications are reviewed by a panel of community-based artists and arts/cultural advocates from southern, central, and northern Aroostook County.

Funding for the Aroostook Creative Network Micro-Grant Program is made possible by the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts: mainearts.maine.gov/. The micro-grant program is administered by Wintergreen Arts Center.
